Shadowfever Films

Welcome to the home page of Shadowfever Films.  We are a new, micro-budget alternative to the "Hollywood" way of film-making.  With several of our own films in pre-production, and an exciting array of talent in various fields, we are here to serve as a technical/creative cooperative of like-minded people with an idea and a dream. 

While most of our stories would be considered "horror" or "thriller" we are actually creating films in various sub-genres. Some of the storylines could almost be considered mainstream and even romantic.

Angst Productions will be handling most of the "slasher" and thriller type lines with the first project "No Good Deed,"  which is now in pre-production.

Cinema Absurdia will be dealing with the more comedic areas of horror with films like "Stain" and "Die Noon," modern spoofs of classic westerns adding zombies as the protagonists.

Black Shadow Productions will be focusing on more serious, though still mysterious, projects with it's first being "Broken Wings."

No Good Deed:

 (1 of 2 films currently in pre-production from Angst Productions)

 To be shot in the North Georgia, western North Carolina, eastern Tennessee area.  We are planning on a late summer/early fall start date for principle photography. The film is to be shot on digital video at 24 fps.  There will be medics on the set at all times.

 The feature is “No Good Deed” a story of friendship and revenge.  There is plenty of blood and violence, strong characters, and several unusual plot twists.  It is an 80’s style film with a new millennium sensibility.  It could be considered a slasher/thriller style film without other-worldly elements.  Basically the evil that humans can direct towards other humans is far more edgy and frightening than vampires and zombies.

 Three young women, recently graduated from college, are taking a road trip.  They are spirited and fun-loving with very distinct personalities and each with a secret:

Marla – Very attractive and self-assured. She has short cropped hair and the body of an Amazon.  She is bi-sexual.

Tracie – Sweet, pretty, cheer-leader material who is embarrassed to let others know that she is still a virgin.

Liz – Nice looking but self conscious about her weight and thus prone to be a little promiscuous in order to feel wanted.

They run across another young woman:

Nacelle: Tall and beautiful, with a personality that is at times shy, and at others very strong.  She is obviously running away from something in her past.  She has the biggest secret of them all.

Nacelle is being harassed by several local bullies when she is introduced.  The girls help her escape and the bullies decide to find the girls and make them all pay for embarrassing them. Murder and revenge are the result.   Saving Nacelle is the good deed done that will not go unpunished.

 All of the lead actors and actresses need to be fit since the story is very action oriented.  We are not looking for weightlifters, models, or unreal types, but real people with the stamina for action sequences.  In other words runners as apposed to body builders.  Must be willing to get dirty, sweaty, and tired. There is some nudity, non-explicit sex and rape scenes, and enough blood-letting and torture that the squeamish need not apply.  This is not pornography, there is no full frontal nudity, and filming of these scenes will be done discreetly, with minimal crew on set.

 We are looking for actresses that are comfortable with brief nudity, not exhibitionists who can’t act.

 The male actors also need strong acting skills and must have the ability to be able to express a wide range of emotions without over-emoting.

 No actors or actresses under the age of 21 will be considered. 

Emma:

The story of a young woman, a loner and the victim of ridicule and abuse who, through the help of a mysterious stranger, exacts her revenge on those who she believes have wronged her. A bit of "Carrie" with a touch of "May" and a dash of "Faust" for a sweet revenge story with a twist.

Emma is a goth type, appears to be very plain but becomes wickedly attractive in a dark seductive way after her transformation. The actress will need strong acting skills since this character will be carrying most of the movie. A few "near nude" scenes, primarily from the back and side. No full frontal nudity.

The other young characters should be attractive and able to project arrogance, cruelty, and self-centered attitudes.

Broken Wings:  (also in pre-production through Black Shadow Productions)

Slight delay due to some script and character changes.

Filming in North Georgia and southeast Tennessee.

It is the story about the search for the truth and history of a patient in a mental hospital for whom no records exist. It is the story of a man whose life was stolen from him and the people dedicated to giving it back.  Dr. Laura Monroe is determined to find answers and the search will take her back into a past hidden for 40 years, a past filled with murder, deceit, and terror.  And she is running out of time.

A film with a European sensibility though set in the American South.

No nudity, but there are strong female roles to be filled, including roles for  actors and actresses who have passed the 30 year old mark.  Or who have passed 40, or 50, or 60, or 80.

A few of the roles have been cast but there are still several to be filled, including the lead role of Dr. Laura Monroe.  Not looking for a particular type, though she should be attractive and strong-willed.

Several small parts for more mature actors and actresses.

 I am proud to announce that Gregory Bakay will be creating the soundtrack. Die Noon:

(from Absurdia Productions)

A modern day spoof of the classic western, "High Noon." The protagonists in this (soon to be classic in it's on right) are zombies returning to exact their revenge on the sheriff who sent them to Hell. Naturally there are those in town who will welcome the change since things have been rather dead in town since the sheriff cleaned out the undead element.

Be sure to listen out for the theme song, "Oh Don't Forsake Me Just For Drooling."

We could not get Gary Cooper to reprise his role or even appear in a cameo. I suppose only zombies actually come back from the dead.

If you are interested in working on any of these or future projects please contact us.   Cast and crew are will be working initially for deferred payments based points given for a percentage of any monies made by the film.  There will be food, fun, copies of the finished DVD and full credit given.

As previously stated, we consider your skills and talents important, no matter what your age. It is never to late to dream, or to chase your dream.

Just so you know: No actresses were killed or injured during the making of our films. (Zombies don't count).

Any similarity to any persons, living or dead, was probably intentional. How can you spoof something otherwise?
